A Raspberry Pi may be small, but it is able to run a 32-bit operating system like Linux and have full Internet connectivity. Plus it includes an expansion header that can talk directly to other hardware components such as sensors and LEDs. We will use Node.js and other libraries to interact with this hardware capability in our demo.
Attendees should plan on bringing their laptops or smartphones. For the hands-on part you will have more fun when you bring along something with wifi and an SSH client installed. And a web browser.
