Real-time data has become a standard in modern web and mobile applications. Users expect immediate global reactions to their changes and are increasingly confounded when this is not present in their application experience. In this talk, I'll introduce the flagship underlying protocol - WebSockets, with a brief history of the problem, and show how easy it is to integrate Socket.IO into your full-stack project. Additionally, we'll talk about modern standards like GraphQL and REST and how ws:// integrates there.
