What we're about

The Laughter Labyrinth is a combination of two powerful, yet simple meditations... walking and laughing. The basis of meditation is to connect mind and body through breath and presence. Adding elements of movement, sound, and rhythm with walking and laughter invites ease and joy in the practice. Ease and joy attract continuity, inspires a sense of fulfillment and encourages connection. As we gather, you will be invited into a round of Laughter Wellness that will include deep breathing, integrated movement, laughter sounds and positive affirmation. From there we will walk the labyrinth and invite a deeper connection to self, community, world and planet.
Park in the angled parking along Aspen Dr (closer to 29th than Taft) and we will meet at what I assume is the restrooms/gazebo? (see link below) around 7:55am. This walk is a bit longer so that we can explore the extension of the park across 29th St. This is likely to be a slower, quieter and more contemplative walk, self-paced in order to promote more presence & connection to the grounds and the sculptures. We will all start together but, perhaps, finish at different times. Please arrive by 12:45 p.m. The first Saturday of May is designated as a day to bring people together from around the planet in celebration of the labyrinth as a symbol for healing and peace. What a wonderful way to come, get unplugged from all the distractions and walk the labyrinth inviting more peace into your life as well as to our planet. We will have with us Phyllis Kennemer, who will share some brief information about the labyrinth and suggestions for making the most of your walk in and out of the labyrinth. A word about World Labyrinth Day: People are invited to walk a labyrinth at 1:00 p.m. in every time zone. Be a part of a rolling wave of peaceful energy as the earth turns. If you cannot join us for the walk, you can find a labyrinth near you at www.labyrinthlocator.com. Join us in spirit as you walk a labyrinth in your time zone at 1:00 p.m. on May 4th. Phyllis K.
