What we're about

Meet fellow Tarot Card Readers and other people interested in tarot here in NoVa.

Come to Sticks and Stones where we host our Tarot Meetups - for fun and to talk about the Major Arcana, Minor Arcana, the Fool, Swords, Batons, Coins, Cups -- anything to do with Tarot! Occasionally we also offer classes on other forms of divination as well. We'll focus on doing readings for everyday situations, decisions, issues, etc that result in practical advice you can put to use TODAY!

This meetup is suitable for everyone, including beginners (and enders.) If you don't have a deck of your own, you can borrow one when you get here. Everyone will be giving and receiving readings in this meetup.

Tea is provided by Sticks and Stones, feel free to bring a snack to share. Donations for the meetup are accepted, feel free to drop $1 in the Tea Fund jar.

All you need is an open mind. So no excuses! Sign up today!

Use of workshop space agreement at Sticks and Stones:

Tarot Time!

Sticks and Stones ~ Westfair Center

***We have now resumed in-person meetups!***

This month marks the return of the popular deck swap event! If you have any decks that you don't use and are interested in rehoming, trading, or selling, you can bring them. We'll have a space to lay them out so folks can browse and find what interests them. The major rule to keep in mind is that we do not use the cash register for any transactions so if you think you might be interested in purchasing decks, I recommend that you bring cash.

We will also be taking a look at Renaissance tarot decks and their history. In addition we'll also touch on some of the perceptions, thoughts, and opinions of tarot during that time period. Even in the mid sixteenth century, one can already see some of the foundations being laid for examining and interpreting the cards. It's a fascinating glimpse into early tarot history.

We are a group of tarot practitioners and enthusiasts who are looking to practice and expand our tarot skills through both collaborative discussion and hands-on practice. Everyone is welcome regardless of skill level, even if you've never picked up a deck in your life!

Each month we'll have a topic to discuss together, and when that discussion wraps up the session is opened up to any questions people might have about tarot. We also often break up into smaller groups to practice giving readings to each other. (The giving and receiving of readings are both completely voluntary, so please don't feel pressured!)

Having a tarot deck is not required. (If you're looking for recommendations for a first deck, we'll be more than happy to help!) Some have found it helpful to bring pen and paper for notes as well.

No fee, however snacks, donations for the tea fund, and gifts of practical items for the shop (toilet paper, paper towels, etc) are always welcome.
