Competitive Badminton Session + Pub Social
About Nomads’ Thursday club sessions: We have 4 courts from 7pm to 9pm for friendly but competitive doubles and mixed doubles games, using feather shuttlecocks. Games are selected using the ebadders.com computerised peg board, as we’ve found this the best way to ensure games are selected fairly. There is a short period of free games at the end of the session. After the session, many of us will be heading to the Asparagus for some well-deserved food and drinks. The pub is on the corner of the main road, on the way back to Clapham Junction, however any of our regulars will be happy to show you the way. We look forward to seeing you there! The Nomads Team Directions: The quickest way to the session from Clapham Junction station is to take the exit by platforms 1 and 2 and walk south down Falcon Road. When you get to a big junction with the Asparagus pub on your right hand side, go straight across in to Battersea High St and continue down until you reach a pedestrian alley opposite Thomas’ school. Turn right at the end of the alley and the school will be visible. If driving, parking is available in the school car park on Parkham St, please enter SW11 3DQ in your GPS system. The school is also easily accessible from the following bus lines: 319, 345, 344, 49 and 19. RSVPs Please note, we are often oversubscribed so RSVPs are mandatory. We reserve the right to turn away anyone who hasn’t signed up, as this is only fair to those on the waiting list. Please only remain on the waiting list if you are able to come to the session as Meetup automatically allocates spots at the session in the event of drop-outs. If you are no longer able to attend please change your RSVP as soon as possible – any no-shows or cancellations within 24 hours may be charged at full price. What we're about

Nomads is a competitive badminton club based in Clapham/Battersea (SW11).

We have 3 Men’s Doubles, 2 Mixed Doubles and 2 Ladies’ Doubles teams in the Middlesex and Hammersmith Leagues for the 2017/18 season. We secured 4 promotions last year and are aiming for some more this season. We also regularly attend tournaments organised by local clubs and some Badminton England circuit tournaments

Club sessions run every Thursday throughout the year from 7-9pm at the St John Bosco College, and we play our home matches at the same venue on Saturdays from 12-3pm. We are a very sociable club so both sessions are inevitably followed by drinks at the local pub. In addition we have social events throughout the year and have been known to combine tournaments with a fun weekend away in the UK or abroad.

Due to the popularity of our sessions, we unfortunately have limited space for new members. However we may consider taking on a few more strong players, so if you are interested in joining please do join the Meetup group, or get in touch directly at info.nomadsbc@gmail.com . Please confirm with an organiser that there is space before coming down to a session.

Guest fees are £10 per session, and a flexible 20 session membership is available for £160.

We look forward to seeing you at a session soon!
