Join us for this supercool, family-friendly presentation on the world of comic bookmaking with Jon Chad—writer, illustrator, and author of multiple comic books.

Jon will start by overviewing what his cartooning process looks like, the common workflow of a graphic novel, and what sort of relationship exists between artist and editor in the modern comics publishing landscape. An open discussion will follow where Jon can speak to questions regarding comics, illustration, or applied cartooning. Children are encouraged to attend!

Jon Chad was born and raised in Vermont but now lives in Sacramento, CA, where he is obsessed with giant robots, screen printing, and bookmaking. Chad has been commissioned by Cartoon Network to make artist books based on shows like Adventure Time and The Amazing World of Gumball. He is the author of Leo Geo, Science Comics: Volcanoes, and the illustrator of Science Comics: Solar System. Chad is the creator of the multi-format immersion narrative BAD MASK. Along with cartoonist Alec Longstreth, Jon Chad created seven issues of the pinball magazine Drop Target Zine. Jon also drew the art package for The Jetsons pinball machine for The Pinball Company and Spooky Pinball.
