Norfolk Contra Dancers (TRADIN') meet on the third Saturday of every month to dance to live music with a caller. Contra dancing has moves similar to old-time square dancing, done with a partner and another couple in a line. No costume or partner is required and there is new dancer orientation every month. Anyone who can walk can contra dance! New dancers are always welcome, so come out and join us.

Make a resolution to DANCE MORE in 2019! This will be a good way to start: Ben Allbrandt will call to the tunes of "Cutie and the Hot Wings" (Carol Thomas Downing on fiddle, Amy Ferebee on guitar, Susan Lawlor on flutes and whistles, and Jim Hockett playing mandolin.)
Dancers come about 7:15 for an introductory teach by the night's caller; dance begins at 8:00. This would be a great time to introduce a newcomer to contra dancing, so bring a friend! Please also bring a favorite treat to share at the break.
Cost: $8.00 for TCDC members; $10.00 for non-members. You can support the Tidewater traditional dance community by joining TCDC at the door -- and then save $2.00 on every dance for the rest of the season.
