Speaker - Alex Proaps

Alex is a research scientist at ODU's Research Foundation. She conducts UX research for small businesses funded through federal small business innovation research and technology transfer (SBIR/STTR) grants. Currently, she is supporting the development of "nearly hands-free" AR/VR solutions for command and control of robotic systems. Alex has a formal background in Human Factors and Psychology - she studies the ways in which human perception, cognition, decision making, physiology, etc. impact our relationships with technology. She is passionate about multidisciplinary collaboration and advocates for human-centered design practices at every stage of a system's life cycle.
