What we're about

We are a friendly group of British ex-pats in the SF North Bay from the UK, Europe and beyond. A social and activity group we get together at least once a month.

40's, 50's and 60's, we are a diverse group that doesn't lack a sense of humour. We like to meet for a cuppa; go for a pint; dinner; movies; hikes; camping; paddleboarding; theatre; Napa etc as well as informal gatherings in our homes.

Some of us have been here 15 years plus; some newbies. We are a pretty varied bunch with very different lives and backgrounds, so please dont be put off - at least until you have met us! We know you're out there...

We have a core group of 8-10 who meet regularly who have formed genuine friendships, and we are always keen to welcome new people and expand the active group.

Stipulation - We welcome anyone British or ex-pat who wishes to experience a little bit of home away from home - If you never lived there, this is probably the wrong group and you would be bored to tears by our lingo and references! Inactive members will be removed periodically.

If you are looking for some new mates that know how pronounce "tomato" we might be for you!

I dont charge a membership fee but we ask for $2 on coffee mornings to cover the running cost.

Cheers,

Lis.

Dharma Talk & Meditation - Mondays At Spirit Rock

Spirit Rock Meditation Center

Greetings, I have wanted to go here for a while, and the time is finally right, the time is now :) For anyone wishing to explore meditation, inner peace and more freedom from the incessant ramblings of our "thinking" brains this is a good place to start. Spirit Rock's Dharma Talks are now in their 32nd year, so they must be doing something right. I am a first timer, but thought I would open it to the group if anyone is interested. We can combine with dinner if anyone wishes. My desire is to make this a regular meet up - although I personally will not be able to make every week - it would be fantastic to share my passion for all things spiritual with some like-minded Brits! Cost is sliding scale $15-$30 no registration required. Volunteer opportunities for cleaning up post-talk (arrive at 6.30pm and speak with Event Coordinator there. Prepare to stay until 9.45pm). https://www.spiritrock.org/programs/monday-night Community Meditation Centre. Ride sharing recommended on certain evenings (check website). Non-Meetup Carpool opportunities here: https://www.spiritrock.org/ridesharing/monday-night New? Community Welcome Program for newbies prior to event starts at[masked]pm.

The Sunday Rise and Shine! (Venue changes watch for details)

Greetingsl! This is our new, bi-monthly meetup for a morning cuppa and chinwag*. FYI i do vary the Cafe often, and the day now alternates between Saturday and Sunday. Do keep an eye out for those changes and always check the evening before. (The Meetup App can be a little iffy with notifications). We often combine this with a (optional) hike, or market or trip further afield, so watch this space... Do come say hello! We usually hang out for a couple hours. Newcomers are ALWAYS welcome! Lis *This is the only meeting I charge for, as it is our regular meeting. Its just $1 to contribute towards the Meetup monthly running costs of $10 - keeping it open to meeting new friends, who we are adding all the time. Please do not pay online, but just bring a buck to the Cafe, or, buy me a cuppa!
