June meet up - Focussing on UX

Details
Our June meet up will be focussed on UX design, including practical tips on how anyone can get involved with IA, and interactive prototyping techniques. There will also be the opportunity to win free stuff for the first time!
Our talks will be:
• The Secrets of Information Architecture - Pete Edmondson
• A super-quick journey through the interactive prototyping landscape - Dan Goodwin
As always, our meetups are quite informal, so there will be plenty of time for discussion and socialising afterwards.
We will also be running our free to enter raffle, giving away a free licence redeemable against any JetBrains IDE, or .Net product (https://www.jetbrains.com/products.html)!
Talk info:
The Secrets of Information Architecture - Pete Edmondson
You make decisions which impact the user experience everyday, even if you don’t have UX in your job title.
As an Information Architect Pete been thinking about these issues for 20 years.
Now he’s going to share the principles which guide his thinking and which you can apply to your own work.
Pete has designed over two hundred digital projects from websites and intranets to software applications and apps. In that time, he’s been fortunate enough to win a few awards and work on projects for the world’s leading brands including Apple, Coca-Cola, GE, Toyota and Unilever.
A super-quick journey through the interactive prototyping landscape - Dan Goodwin
Interactive prototyping is in a great place right now. There are a wide variety of tools and techniques, with new ones emerging every day.
In this talk, Dan will give a broad overview of the interactive prototyping landscape, talking through the range of tools and techniques. You'll come away with a better understanding of which prototyping tools will suit you and your projects, armed with enough knowledge to use some of them on your design projects straightaway.
Dan is the user experience director at fffunction, a design agency in the South West of the UK. He loves user research and bringing users and empathy for them into every step of a project. He's recently written a book on interactive prototyping with his colleague Ben Coleman.
