This group will be meeting monthly in Morristown at the very cool Art Space, along with other activities. Guest speakers, friendly critique nights, special events and more. All levels of photographers are welcome to this learning, sharing and social Meet Up group.

Friday, September 11,[masked]/11 Memorial Lights - The best Locations In One Night by Luxury Motor Coach PHOTOGRAPH THE 9/11 MEMORIAL LIGHTS FROM THE BEST POSSIBLE GROUND LOCATIONS AND GET THERE IN OUR OWN LUXURY MOTOR COACH!! (There are at least 4 exceptional vantage points in the DUMBO area on the Brooklyn side of the East river. We'll get a chance to explore most, if not all, of them.) We will, of course explore and photograph at “Ground Zero”. What makes this Photo Adventure unique is how we're going to travel to, from, and around the photo locations that we've selected for our photo shoot. We'll all meet at a specified location in northern New Jersey late in the afternoon on Sept. 11th. Our chartered 56 passenger luxury coach will then whisk us off to New York City and be our base. Our first drop off point will be at DUMBO (the Brooklyn side of the East river directly opposite the Freedom Tower and it's Memorial Lights.) We will have time to shoot from several different locations. When we're ready to move on, our Luxury Motor Coach will pick up us and take us within walking distance of Ground Zero where we'll encounter a plethora of new photo ops. Please note: How close we will be able to get to Ground Zero may be somewhat limited by site restrictions and regulations. This is a great way to maximize the number of locations we can visit without any hassle or stress. The best part is that you can always go back the coach if you’re tired or need to warm up. We’ll also be able to leave our extra gear on the coach so you don’t have to schlep a heavy backpack just in case and there will be a restroom on board…how convenient is that. I am quite sure that this Photo Adventure will be both a very emotional experience for us all and a very productive one photographically. At the end of our photo shoot we'll board our luxury motor coast for the trip back to our departure point and our cars. Once we board our bus, everyone will get a gourmet box dinner to eat on the way home. This gourmet box dinner has received rave reviews (5 stars) from past motor coach tour participants. Creating “Stellar” Night Images. Night photography is amazing -- being able to freeze time via star trials and capturing the planets, stars, clouds, milky way, etc. Topics that will be covered include: Gear, Red flashlights, lights for light painting, taking a High ISO test shot, focusing at night (a few different techniques depending upon the circumstances), Exposures under 30 seconds, Long exposures (1-60 minutes), plus star trails and cloud stacks. The program will also include Star Stacking in camera using Live Composite as compared to the more tedious and labor intensive star stacking in Photoshop and other software. We enjoy photography, all aspects, and are excited to share what we know with you to inspire you. "Creativity is contagious, we yearn to pass it on". As photographers, we all need to know about our equipment, our cameras, our aperture, our post-processing, etc -- and logic will certainly take you from point A to point B, but imagination will take you everywhere. We hope to see you at an upcoming photo op, photo class, photo tour, photo workshop, etc.! Lisa Cuchara, PhD, Master Craftsman (PPA), HonNEC, is very passionate about photography and she enjoys both being behind the lens and in the digital darkroom. She loves to photograph nature, but finds many subjects equally intriguing. From birds and flowers to babies and UrBex/HDR, she appreciates the world around her and embraces the challenge of interpreting what her eyes see and her heart feel via her photographs. Lisa says that photography allows her to pay attention to the details, to be mindful, to slow down and appreciate all of the beauty, details and nuances of everyday life.

10 Day/9 Nights of incredible photo ops A trip planned by photographers for photographers Travel with Adventures in Photography ( AIP) when we return to visit and photograph Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons at a time when the Aspen should be at their peak fall color. WHAT YOU'LL SEE AND SHOOT: Most, if not all of the iconic locations in Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Tetons as well at the incredible thermal landscapes at Mammoth Hot Springs. Our trip has been planned to coincide with the time that the Aspen trees should be at their peak color. Their beautiful shade of yellow set against dark green evergreens and dark rocks look especially beautiful. The price of this photo adventure includes: - Two nights at the Ridge Line Hotel in Gardiner, MT (Mammoth Hot Springs). Rate is based on double occupancy. Single supplements will apply where appropriate. - Four nights in the Kelly Inn just outside of the Western gate of Yellowstone National Park. Rate is based on double occupancy. Single supplements will apply where appropriate. - Breakfasts are included in our stay the the Kelly Inn in West Yellowstone. - All ground transportation while on tour - Eight full days of photography plus 2 half days The price of the tour does not include: Round trip transportation from home to airport Airfare Lunches Dinners Drinks Items of a personal nature All of our hotels will have internet connections. However, internet service and cellular phone service, while available, will be spotty in some places. Itinerary: Oct. 2nd , 2020: Group flies from Newark N.J. to Bozman, MT where we'll pick up our vehicles and drive into Yellowstone National Park and North to Mammoth Hot Springs. Of course, we will be photographing as we travel. Oct.2nd to 4th, we"ll be staying at the Ridgeline Hotel in Gardiner, MT for two nights. (Gardiner, MT is a mere 7 miles north of Mammoth Hot Springs. ) Oct. 4th to Oct. 8th : We'll be staying at the Kelly Inn at Yellowstone, Westgate for 4 nights. From this location we'll be able to to photograph the southern end of Yellowstone and the Northern end of the Grand Tetons. Oct. 8th to Oct. 11th: we'll be staying at the Wyoming Inn of Jackson Hole, WY. We'll photograph in and around the Grand Tetons. Oct. 11th: We'll photograph in the a.m. in the Grand Tetons and then depart after breakfast for the airport and our flight home. Prices: Per person based on double occupancy: $3,395.00 Single supplement: $1,100.00 Payment schedule: An initial deposit of $500.00 is due within 7 days of booking. Final payment (balance owed) is due 60 days prior to departure If cancellation is received 60 to 31 days prior to departure, the cancellation fee is 50% of the photo adventure fee. It cancellation is received 30 days or less before departure, the cancellation fee is 100% of the photo adventure fee. Adventures in Photography LLC – Cancellation Policy CANCELLATION OR CHANGES: AIP will make every attempt to operate a photo adventure once confirmed, but will reserve the right to cancel or change a trip at any time, due to insufficient bookings, and/or reasons beyond its control, such as; strikes, war, acts of God, acts of government, civil unrest or any other cause whatsoever, that may make operation of the tour impossible, illegal or inadvisable. All tour payments received will be promptly refunded, and this refund will be the limit of AIP’s liability. AIP is not responsible for any expenses incurred by tour members in preparing for the tour including non-refundable airline tickets, airline penalties, special clothing, visa or passport fees, or other tour-related expenses. AIP recommends the purchase of travel insurance to cover these events and expenses.
