What we're about
The North Raleigh Civitan Club is a local civic group whose focus is on projects that help our community and physically & mentally handicapped children. Our club was formed in 1981. If you are looking for a way to give back to your community and help those who are less fortunate than you, this is the club to join. Our members include bankers, service providers, business owners, mortgage lenders, and more. Our fund raisers include: Pecan Sales at Christmas, a Silent Auction in the spring, and a Live Lobster/Frozen Lobster Tail Sale in October. Our service projects include: support of the Civitan Cottage at Boys & Girls Home at Lake Waccamaw, support of the Duke Child Development Center and the Civitan International Research Center (both organizations do research into physical and mental disabilities that children have), Hilltop Home (for severely handicapped children), various projects for US troops overseas, adopting families at Thanksgiving and Christmas, Project Night Night (for children living in shelters), buying and filling bookbags for under-privileged children and more!
