What we're about

Welcome to North Shore Cyclists! We're a cycling club of paying members on the North Shore. Please go to our website at www.NSCYC.org (http://www.nscyc.org/) for more details and go to http://www.nscyc.org/civicrm/contribute/transact?reset=1&id=1 to join the Club.

North Shore Cyclists (NSC) is a recreational bike club that draws its membership primarily from the North Shore area of Massachusetts.

Our bike rides are routed along the back roads and shorelines north of Boston. Over 400 members range from beginning cyclists who join to learn more about the sport to advanced cyclists who participate to be challenged by fast paceline riding. Whether you enjoy participating in group rides or simply like to follow our arrowed rides with a few friends, join the club and enjoy the camaraderie at North Shore Cyclists.

Regardless of skill level, NSC members share the desire to have fun, to cycle safely, and to meet other people who enjoy cycling as much as they do. Bring a friend if you wish, because all rides are open to the public. We encourage you to become a member of NSC.

Scheduled Rides
NSC hosts recurring (Monday through Saturday) and Sunday rides. The club holds cookouts, weekend excursions, and the Blazing Saddles Century in August. Most NSC rides split into groups determined by the speed of the cyclists. Some members enjoy riding alone or with a friend but join the club for the camaraderie. The NSC road ride season runs from April through October, plus, in the winter, a Sunday road ride from Georgetown. There's also mountain biking beginning in November and continuing untill snow covers the ground.

We support the following organizations

The Topsfield Rail Trail when completed will be approximately 4 miles long, extending from Wenham to the Boxford town line and connecting with the Danvers Rail Trail.
The Coastal Trails Coalition is building a 30-mile, public system of bicycle and pedestrian trails linking the unique coastal features, town centers, neighborhoods and transportation hubs in the communities of Amesbury, Newbury, Newburyport and Salisbury MA. Trails supported by the coalition include the Amesbury Riverwalk, the Clipper City Rail Trail, the Salisbury Point Ghost Trail and the Old Eastern Marsh Trail.
The trails listed above are part of the East Coast Greenway, a project to create a nearly 3,000-mile urban path linking the major cities of the Atlantic coast of the United States, from Calais, Maine to Key West, Florida for non-motorized human transportation.
The Massachusetts Bicycle Coalition (MassBike) promotes a bicycle-friendly environment and encourages bicycling for fun, fitness and transportation
