Monthly Fly In - New Location Assessment

We are always looking to expand our flight areas and locations to better serve our memberships event location needs. This month we will visit Trammel Crow Park (https://www.yelp.com/biz/trammell-crow-park-dallas) just outside of downtown Dallas. The area offers a scenic view of Downtown Dallas and the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Hunt_Hill_Bridge) for those interested in photography and cinematic shots. There is a river walk for those bringing family and wide open spaces for those most concerned with flying. A little bit of something for everyone.

I have not flown the area personally yet, so I have not determined if the area is suitable for fixed wing flight. We will determine that while there. Multi-rotors and quads should be fine. There are shaded areas, but don't forget to bring water and chairs, this is still Texas.

This event already has clearance from Love Field. We will fly under part 101 as hobbyists for the event. I will contact the tower two days prior and on the morning of the event. Both Love Field and city planners are aware of our presence on this day and have asked us to attend the annual Trinity Air Festival held in the same location. That event will be posted to the calendar once I have our participant package from the city. I will need volunteers for the event. This will be the first year the city has had drones as part of the event. They are expecting between 6 and 10 thousand attendees.

NOTICE: Due to the nature of this meetup, its location, and some member concerns, there will be a short Flight Briefing at 9:30 to go over operating guidelines for the day and address questions/concerns.
