More about Improv
Improvisation, or ‘improv’, is a form of group activity in which exercises games and stories are made up spontaneously. There are no lines to rehearse and is highly creative and fun. Improv offers amazing opportunities for problem solving, innovation and creativity both for home and at work.

Improvisation, or ‘improv’, is well-regarded for unlocking creativity that has been used for over 50 years. Creativity is an innate part in every human and improv helps you discover and unlock this magic.
Studies have shown that the skills of improvisation can help with better management of unexpected changes and uncertainty. It improves collaboration, builds confidence, and increases the ability to absorb new ideas. It is highly recommended for creativity. We use a variety of games as a way of being creative.
You will need some experience of understanding of improv to join. You will need to come with an open mind.

Create together. Be spontaneous. Laugh
What people say about our improv :
“Was warmly welcomed and felt at ease straight away, with such a lovely group of people.”
“The Improv Class was amazing and fun”
“Great to meet new people; enjoyed all games.”
Our ground rules will be:
• Be Spontaneous
• Making mistakes is OK (and where learning and creativity happens)
• Go with the Flow - Say “Yes and….”
• Respect other people’s boundaries
• Be prepared for spontaneity, silliness and laughter
You will need to be come with an open mind. We operate a pay-as-you feel model.

Our ground rules:
Improv does create interesting character and scenes, but it is from a place of kindness and respect for fellow improvisers and the audience.

Improv must not be used to deliberately cause upset. We expect everyone to respect physical and emotional boundaries

The golden rule is to treat everyone with respect.

Our principles are:
a) Be Spontaneous
b) Making mistakes is OK (and where learning and comedy happens)
c) Go with the Flow - Say “Yes and….”

We will have some warm up exercises (e.g. alphabet game, mirroring, exaggeration circle) followed by some Improv games (e.g. freeze tag, gibberish, party endowment, two headed experts). Each Improv sessions will have a theme and will last for 2 hours. Afterwards we will head to a nearby cafe' for a drink or bite.

We are based in a lovely ‘drama’ room at Edgware Library – a 5 min walk from Edgware Underground and Bus Station.

Beginners and the experienced welcome. Be prepared for spontaneity, silliness and laughter. You will need to be come with an open mind.
