What we're about

I think it's time we blow this scene, get everybody and the stuff together...
Okay? 3, 2, 1, let's jam.
Welcome to this week's Friday One-Shot! This week we'll be playing Space Bounty Blues, a free RPG inspired by the excellent anime Cowboy Bebop, which you can download here: https://nerdypapergames.itch.io/sbb
We'll be generating characters right before the game (don't worry, it's very quick!), and taking this new system out for a test drive. If you have any questions about the game or the setting, feel free to reach out. If this is your first RPG, awesome, welcome to a great new hobby! If it's not, we welcome your experience!
Looking forward to seeing you.
The game's description:
It’s the turn of the 25th century, and humanity has spread throughout the Inner System, a network of colony clusters connected by Transit Gates that make faster-than-light space travel possible.
Of course, anywhere people go, crime goes with ‘em. And when you can blow jurisdictions at the punch of a hyperdrive, The Man just can’t keep pace.
That’s where bounty hunters like you and the rest of your crew come in, with a license to run down and arrest the System’s Most Wanted throughout all six colony clusters.
But remember: this ain’t some license to kill; you only get paid if you hand over a bounty that’s still breathing.
Swords and Wizardry is 1st Edition D&D. We are going to be meeting for what our DM hopes is a longer-term live game. Open to 6 players.
The world is a world of warring theocratic cities, centered around temples of the Gods. Mummified high priests play the roles of the Gods, and serve as the essential link between the divine and humanity. Their convocations set and govern the cities, in consultation with the king.
But there is a power moving, a king who is striving to conquer and rule the cities, and set himself equal to the Gods. Rumors whisper that he is also dead, an eternal Emperor who seeks to stand besides the Gods, and forge his eternal Empire from the ruins of their cities...
Characters will be available, but if anyone wants to roll up their own and do some worldbuilding, basically session 0 with a brief run, the DM is open to it. We will welcome players taking agency for parts of the game world.
