Western Mass Wordpress - SEO update with Roger Montti

What we'll do

This meetup is open to anyone interested in Wordpress: newbies, developers, designers and administrators. All are welcome.

Agenda

• The state of Search Engine Optimization (60 minutes) - Our guest speaker Roger Montti is a reknown local Search Engine Optimization expert. He will update us on the current strategies for getting your sites ranked highly on search engines. Roger will also highlight differences in ranking content and local businesses in Google's search engine. Roger's bio: https://www.searchenginejournal.com/author/roger-montti/

• Current projects (20 minutes) - Introduce yourself, tell us what you are working on at the moment and what you are learning about.

• Problems and Solutions (30 minutes) - Bring us your current problems and we'll use groupthink to try to solve them. If you have a laptop to demonstrate your issue, bring it and we'll plug you into the projector.

• Decide next meeting topics (10 minutes)

What to bring

You may wish to bring a laptop to take notes or to share your screen on the projector. You may need a HDMI port if you want to share your screen.

Important to know

We'll be in basement of the Coldwell Banker storefront, 112 Main Street in downtown Northampton.

The basement meeting room is NOT handicap accessible. You must be able to get down a set of stairs. This is not too far from Thornes Marketplace. Just walk past Thornes toward Pleasant Street and you'll see their office on the right. As you walk in the door, there is a set of stairs to the basement on the left. The meeting room with tables and projectors is down there. It can accommodate about 20 people comfortably. We are grateful to Coldwell Banker for providing use of their space and hope to be back in our regular space in November.

Street parking is free in Northampton after 6PM. However, street parking is limited. You can also park in E.J. Gare Garage behind Thornes Marketplace. The first hour is free, but it is 75 cents per hour after the first hour. You can walk through Thornes Marketplace on the elevated crosswalk. Once on Main Street, turn right.
