What we're about
Northern Illinois Coders began its life in June 2005 as the Rockford Dot Net User's Group-about two-three years ago, we decided to expand our group's focus to include other platforms and technologies (including those from Microsoft and non-Microsoft sources).
Today, we are a group of about 150 or so software developers, web developers, DBAs, and technology enthusiasts of varying skills levels who meet most months of the year to learn about the various technologies available. We talk about different ways to enhance our knowledge, and hopefully also our careers - sometimes we have a presentation from an industry source and/or from our membership while other times we just talk shop. Some of us make our living writing code. Some of us just code for fun. Some of us are working on side projects and want to learn more about technology that we do or don't use on our day jobs. Some of us are still deciding which language(s) to use in a given situation. Regardless, all have a desire to learn about and/or discuss the programming and code which is running so many things these days, and related industry issues - frequently over munchies and beverages.
If this sounds like fun to you, then come on by and join the discussion-most of our meetings are free to attend and we'd like to see you here.
