What we’re about
Whether you're an urban sketcher who would like to move into painting, a painter looking to work outdoors or a complete beginner this is the group for you. It's also a great opportunity to get used to working in public with the support of like minded fellow artists.
Northern Realist Painting & Drawing runs regular Plein Air Landscape & Cityscape workshops in Manchester and the surrounding countryside. The workshops are taught by Christopher Clements and Kieran Ingram, both classically trained professional artists. The workshops will introduce you to the the fundamental elements of painting outdoors. This will give you the practical and artistic skills needed to go out and capture the essence of your environment.
In addition to our painting and drawing workshops we also organise regular gallery and exhibition visits which are a great opportunity to discuss the technical aspects of art with fellow artists. Looking at art this way is a great way to develop your own style and skill.
