What we're about

This group is set up to learn, share, and practice Arabic Language. This meetup is open to anyone who would like to explore the language of poetry, spirituality, and wisdom. The meet up will cover beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels of practice. It will also feature and cover different aspects of Arab history, literature, and culture. The meet up will regularly open up with a small teaching of a short verse from the Koran to provide insight into the complexity and beauty of the Arabic language.

Let us get together to practice Arabic! We will run virtual meetings until we are able to go out when the weather gets better. Each week, we will share Arabic poetry, literature, culture, or music.

Meetup Basic rules:

  1. The class will be run in English and targets non-Arabic Speakers. If you are a native Arabic speaker, welcome to the group and meetup!
  2. The class is focused on the Arabic language, literature, history, and culture studies. No politics topics will be covered!
  3. The class is based on absolute respect to all cultures, all religions, and all beliefs and it supports universal unity and harmony among all people as one humanity. Come without prejudice!
  4. The class is focused on learning the Arabic language and creating new friendship along the way. Practice a beautiful language!
  5. The class is primarily for non-Arabic speakers but I do welcome all members who would love to join to learn and socialize as well. Please be mindful if you are a native Arabic speaker not to dominate or disrupt the class.
  6. Bring with you please pens, notepads, and an open minds. This class is not designed for a social hour ... it is designed with rigor to learn and study Arabic language. Please prepare for the class before you join!
  7. Keep it neutral. Please do not discuss politics, religion, or raise divisive discussions. Please keep the class a safe place open for all as one humanity coming together to learn from each other.
