What we're about

The Northern Virginia Conservation Trust (NVCT), founded in 1994, is an award winning charity that saves nearby nature by helping local governments and private landowners voluntarily preserve natural areas, trails, streams and parks. NVCT is a non-profit, tax exempt 501 (c) 3 organization preserving natural and historic resources. Contributions are tax deductible. Presently, we have preserved over 5,700 acres of natural areas and open space in Northern Virginia.

NVCT also hosts a series of local outdoor educational and volunteer opportunities that we organize and/or co-sponsor with other organizations. These events are designed for people who want to learn more about ecology and help with environmental restoration in Northern Virginia, and are great opportunities for kids to get involved with saving nearby nature! Opportunities include: Native Tree Plantings, Invasive Species Removals, and Park & Stream Clean-ups.
