Beginner-Intermediate Pickleball
Open play on six courts spread over two tennis courts. Our Monday and Wednesday meetup events are intended for beginners and low-intermediate players. Previously our meetups did not designate a specific skill level. Given the vast number of players attending the weekday events, it makes sense to provide some structure to provide fairer competition for all. Generally speaking, players play one game and then come off if four other players waiting want to take the court. The ratio of players to courts is never more than six to one and almost always less, so nobody has to sit out long. Though there is no strict protocol on the arrangement of games, there is with respect to your RSVP. If you RSVP and subsequently change your mind about attending, you must go on the website and indicate such by clicking on the X and then clicking on "Submit" at the top right corner of the screen. Failure to do so can result in temporary suspension of your privilege to participate in the meetup events. Paddles and balls (both hard and soft) are provided. Shower facilities are available. Email the organizer if you have any questions.

What we're about

The exciting sport of pickleball has been spreading far and wide throughout the Delaware Valley. Notable enclaves of activity can be found in Downingtown, Havertown, Haverford, Cherry Hill, Huntingdon Valley, and Jamison, to name a few. For the last eight years, pickleball players have been flocking to Mt. Airy, Chestnut Hill, and, since 2015, the Green Valley Country Club to learn the game , enjoy spirited competition, and bask in a camaraderie that has become a hallmark of the sport. Conceived as a family-oriented sport near Seattle in the mid-sixties, pickleball is a staple in school gym classes around the country, but has become most popular amongst the 55+ active adult population. All ages find the sport easy-to-learn and loads of fun. Our group has welcomed beginners who have never picked up a racquet (or paddle), serious tournament players who have ventured as far as WA, FL, AZ, and UT for competition, and all levels in between. Check us out.
