What we're about

We are a group of hackers, tinkerers, techies, engineers, artists and makers of all kinds. We formed in 2014 and have built a community of like-minded people to share skills and knowledge, learn about technologies and try out new things. We have a physical community workshop space with a membership which offers access to interesting people and interesting tools, such as laser cutters, welding equipment, woodworking tools and 3D printers. There are regular Monday meetups, project show ’n tells and learning sessions for everybody. First meeting is free - become a full Hackspace member for access to the space and network of members. For more information on hackspaces generally, see the wikipedia article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hackerspace or come to one of our meetups and see the magic happening!

Norwich Hackspace is open again

Lion House

Following the latest government guidance Norwich Hackspace is reopening on Monday evenings for members and pre-booked visitors. We still observe social distancing and masks.

Tonight there will be a tour of the space (including Metalspace) from[masked]pm and then an Intro to Arduino demo for anyone that is new to basic electronics. All welcome but please let us know you are planning to come.

We welcome new and prospective members so if you are not a member but would like to find out more, please get in touch so that we can let you know how things stand. If you want to know more about membership, please get in touch via [masked]

In 'normal' times, Norwich Hackspace full members have anytime-access to the Hackspace once they have been inducted, which takes a few weeks of attendance. Once a week, we all try and get-together so that we see each other face-to-face - Mondays 7-9pm.

That is also the time for new people to come and meet the members and see how the Hackspace works and whether membership is for them.

If you can't come on Mondays, please get in touch via email [masked] or call[masked] and we will arrange an introduction and a tour of the space at another time.

On Mondays, members bring their own projects to work on and can share knowledge and information, help another member or just get on with their own project. The rest of the time they pop in and out although sometimes members agree to meet and work together on a project at other times. Members also communicate with each other through a closed group.

For visitors, the first session is free.

If you have been before please sign up as a regular member at www.norwichhackspace.org. Subs are £15 a month and there is no minimum contract or membership period.

Hope to see you on a Monday sometime!
