We are a community of artists who gather at the Norwood Space Center. We started off with weekly figure drawing nights, but have expanded to other art making opportunities as well. A few of us rent studio space at the NSC, while most live in the area and enjoy making art as a hobby. We range from experienced artists to complete novices. All are welcome.
Drawing night is back at long last! We are excited to welcome you back to the Norwood Space Center just as we ended...with a Portrait Party. Join us for this interactive drawing event!
What to expect: * Ally will lead intros and split us into groups of 2-3 so we can draw each other's portraits * Warm-up sketches * 10 minute poses (I draw you, then you draw me) * Switch groups & repeat * Reconnect with old friends, make new ones, make art
What to bring: * Paper and something to draw with. Most people sit with a sketchbook in their laps, but a few bring easels and big pads. * Drinking cup. Yes, we still have wine! * Snack if you think you might be hungry. No more shared food. * $10 to participate. Venmo preferred now (Code shared at event) * Masks are optional
New: You must RSVP in order to attend. If your plans change, cancel so space is freed up for others. 15 person limit. RSVP closes at 5:00 pm on the day of the event.
How to get there: When you pull into the NSC parking lot, keep going until you reach Building 6, which has the white facade. We'll prop open the door before the event. As you enter Building 6, the bathrooms will be on your right. Turn right at the glass conference room to head into the kitchen area. Go to the back of the wooden studio spaces to Studio 6Z (Ally, Duncan and Patricia's studio). We work in the long hallway in front of 6Z rather than the little nook.
We hope to see you there! All levels welcome. No previous art experience necessary.
