Photo Walk- Empire Mine, Grass Valley, California

Details
This is a fantastic place to explore the historic Empire Mine State Historic Park. The fee to enter the park is $3.00 per person. The cost of the Photo Walk is $15.00 per person. This is a wonderful location to photograph the old mine, buildings, and forest. We will end our 'walk' at 1:00pm. There are plenty of tables to have our lunch. I suggest we bring a sack lunch and share our images with each other at lunch. The trip from Sacramento is about 1.5 hours but, well worth it.
What is a Photo Walk? It’s a social photographic event where photographers both professional and amateur get together, to walk around with their cameras, shoot photos, and meet and greet other photographers and hopefully make new friends. In a way it is a form of “Street Shooting” which is defined by renowned shooter, Jim McGee: “Street shooting is about capturing unique images that tell a story about a place. Look for unusual signs, look for color and architectural details”.
Recommendations: Dress for the occasion and where comfortable shoes. Bring at least two sets of batteries, at least 4 GIG’s in Flash or Memory cards. Also, carry a good camera bag with a sturdy shoulder strap. Water, snacks and/or Power bars are suggested on Photo Walks outside of the Folsom/Sacramento area.
