Rutland Water is an amazing country water park in the East Midlands offering a huge range of watersports and other leisure pursuits. There is a major bike hire centre there if required.
The cycle track is 25 miles long including the Hambleton peninsula and an obvious visual attraction is the iconic Normanton Church saved from the rising waters and now an unusual venue for weddings and other celebrations.
There are lots of places to pause for refreshment.
