Buttonpusher's Marty has his own band, A-Tota-So who are in the process of production of their third album - this one with Marty's vocals!!
They are doing a few fund-raiser shows, culminating in this headline show at Rough Trade!The last time I saw them was a rather wonderful house show, and at that show was also The People Assembly who really stepped it up and were quite manic!
Also on the bill is Earth Is Doomed who I last saw at The Grove - a (strangely enough) doomy two piece

I've seen all of these bands before, but with such a great lineup for just £6.50 in advance, I couldn't resist!
Both Stained Glass and City Flowers I last saw at Waterfront Festival; the two bands share a couple of members, with Josh leading Stained Glass, and Mollie Ralph City Flowers.
Other than those two, Sunk, who recently supported PiL at Rock City and Rhythm Eaters round off the bill!

Stained Glass are Sheffield’s latest offering of heavy music and pioneers of Third Wave, a new space wherein grunge, shoegaze and hardcore co-exist and grow together. They are frontman Joshua, front-woman Mollie Ralph (Nottingham-based), lead guitarist Hari, bassist Henry and drummer Ollie (Nottingham-based). Formed in 2023, they take influence from acts like Pixies and Nirvana, translate the resonant, raw grunge values and adapt it sonically to the modern heavy sounds. Combining roaring vocals with intricate, face-melting guitar parts and stomping, powerful breakdowns to create one united wall of sound the heavy music scene is not safe at all. The live setting is where Stained Glass are at their best. Their sets are loud, riotous yet executed perfectly. The one-two vocal punch of Joshua and Mollie makes the live sets, the two vocalists taking turns lyrically to really hammer home some powerful music. The essence of pre-naughties shoegaze lives on and the big wall-of-sound aesthetic has returned, now a part of the Third Wave.

City Flowers have emerged on the alt-rock scene, fusing raw energy with a dark, infectious sound. Fronted by Mollie Ralph, the band channels her gritty, powerhouse vocals into something both intense and expansive. Most impressive is the energy they exude when playing live. Dedicating their first single ‘Foremans Sitta’ to their local punk bar ‘Foremans’ of which they regard as their second home, Sunk bring a unique blend of inspiration from classic punk icons such as Stiff Little Fingers, UK Subs and The Fall whilst infusing sounds from the likes of Soft Play, IDLES, Amyl and the Sniffers and The Chats.
