Abstract:
This workshop will take you through the steps to get a simple CRUD application setup in the PHP Framework Laravel.

What will we be doing?
Pete Gallagher of PJG Creations will be taking you through the steps to get a simple Line Of Business CRUD Web Site up and running using the PHP Framework Laravel, including using Bootstrap to theme the site and MySQL to store some data.

By the end of the Workshop, you should have a good grounding in Laravel to take away and start building your own websites.

What you need:

For those who like to use their own web server, we have WAMP:

You'll need to make sure you have the following installed on your machine before arriving...

1) Cmder:
> Download: http://cmder.net/
> Copy to “c:\Program Files(x86)\”
> Add Cmder to Path
> Open Environment Variables
> Edit Path Item
> Click browse
> Navigate to c:\Program Files(x86)\[Cmder directory]
> Click ok to all dialogs

2) Node:
> Download: https://nodejs.org/en/download/
> Install: Normally

3) WAMP:
> Download: https://sourceforge.net/projects/wampserver/files/
> Install: Normally
> Set PHP Version to 7.19
> Add PHP to Path;
> Open Environment Variables
> Edit Path Item
> Click browse
> Navigate to [WAMP Directory]\bin\php\php7.1.9)
> Click ok to all dialogs

4) Composer:
> Download: https://getcomposer.org/download/
> Install: Normally

For those who prefer the cross platform option of Vagrant and VirtualBox, you'll need the following;

1) Vagrant:
> Download: https://www.vagrantup.com/downloads.html
> Install: Normally
2) Virtual Box:
> Download: https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads
> Install: Normally
3) Disable Hyper-V (Windows):
> Press Start
> Search for “Windows Features”
> Click “Turn Windows Features On and Off”
> Untick Hyper-V > Hyper-V Platform (Will disable Docker)
4) Git:
> Download: https://git-scm.com/downloads
> Install: Normally
> Add the Git Folder to your PATH
