Our previous writing group created a tee-shirt that said, "Writing a novel isn't rocket science. It's much harder." The road from conceiving a novel to publishing it certainly can be challenging. This group aims to make the journey a little less bumpy.
We're looking for experienced writers who already have a novel underway. We'll critique each other's work in longer chunks, share insights about story structure and fiction elements, explore publishing options, and provide good company and inspiration. (The "good company" part is as important to us as the critiquing.) If you're a new writer looking to learn how to write, this group isn't for you. But if you've taken writing courses in the past, or have publications, or have read lots of books about how to write fiction, we're excited to meet you. We also hope that you're kind, generous, and have a sense of humor, as critiquing is delicate business. We'll ask to see a sample of your work first so we're sure to create a compatible group.
