Important Note: All face to face meetups in this group are ON HOLD until the pandemic is over. And that means life is back to normal as it was before March 2020 when have a safe and effective vaccine. Until then we recommend that you enjoy hiking safely by yourself or with your household members while following public safety regulation only in an area where you can maintain psychical distancing .
We recommend staying away from any trails that can possible become crowded or where cannot maintain at least 2 meters physical distance in all distance in all directions.

O.W.A.C is a non for profit, semi-exclusive,private club of like-minded & fit individuals who get together to enjoy outdoor pursuits in each others company. Hiking, kayaking, cross-country skiing, and snow shoeing are among the sanctioned events. Our hike leaders are all officially certified by Hike Ontario.
Our hikes generally involve long distances and a number of our members RUCK on hikes.
The membership of this club is restricted to people who born between the years of 1970 and 1990 inclusive.
You can join this meetup page for free. However being a official member of this club has a $7.00 membership to cover the cost of being officially affiliated with Hike Ontario. Our affiliated club is listed here.
You must apply with your REAL first name and have a clear, identifiable picture of yourself on your profile page.
With the membership, you will receive a club patch and membership certificate when you join us and you can also apply for our distance rewards. ** Coming soon - The New Hikers Quick Reference Handbook will be giving to all new members to answer all your basic questions about hiking.
The membership certificate will give access to discounts in some of our outdoor partner stores in Ottawa.

Proper outdoor clothing, footwear such as sturdy hiking shoes / boots, are mandatory. For safety reasons and to ensure the smooth operation of the hike /walk, hike leaders may turn away those who appear to be poorly prepared for the activity or who arrive late. No pets allowed.
