We are a group of gay geeks who get together play video games, go to movies, out to dinner, and talk comic books, TV shows, etc. Our purpose is talk, play, and share about what brings us together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: What is the OC Gay Geeks?

OC Gay Geeks is social group designed for guys in Orange County to connect to one another and geek out.

•Question: Do I have to be gay or a geek to join?

You do not have to be either but it helps. We do not discriminate and are open to everyone else who identifies with the LGBTQI or as a straight/ally. If you aren’t a geek, don’t worry, we can guide you.

Question: Why did you create OC Gay Geeks?

Sometimes it’s hard for others (regardless of them being gay, straight, etc.) to be excited about the finer points of science fiction, comic books, cartoons, and fantasy.

Los Angeles has several GLBT affirming geek groups but I wanted to create a group/space in Orange County for those of us who live and work in Orange County.

OC Gay Geeks started out as an experiment to see if I could gauge the amount of support for a group of this type. It is evolving and adapting to the needs.

Question: Why should I join?

Everyone has their own specific reasons but if you’ve tried other groups, bars, clubs, and haven’t found your own niche

Make new friends and connect with old ones

Too busy or not sure where to meet like-minded guys.

Question: I am having a hard time adding myself to the group?

Send Marco an email, he's a pretty cool guy and he'll get you squared away.

Being a geek is all about being honest about what you enjoy and not being afraid to demonstrate that affection. It means never having to play it cool about how much you like something. It's basically a license to proudly emote on a somewhat childish level rather than behave like a supposed adult. Being a geek is extremely liberating. - Simon Pegg
