New Orleans open data hackathon

Details
Come all ye hackers, writers, reporters and friends to a joint event with Hacks/Hackers New Orleans (https://www.meetup.com/Hacks-Hackers-New-Orleans/events/237147941/). We're going to crack open some data and see what we can make of it: apps, maps, articles, essays, tools... All ideas are welcome.
A hackathon (https://medium.com/hackathons-anonymous/wtf-is-a-hackathon-92668579601#.mzdg7ocoe) is a free event for people to hack away at whatever they're interested in, to benefit the people of New Orleans. That could mean making a map of recycling locations, for instance, or cleaning up data on rent prices.
Some topics we'll tackle at this hackathon will include, but not be limited to:
• Recycling
• Rent prices / property values
• Transit
• Crime
• 211 and 311 calls
We'll start with coffee and introductions at 10am, and break into groups. ONA is buying pizza for lunch (https://www.meetup.com/ONA-New-Orleans/), and at 4pm we'll get back together to debrief on what we got done.
This will be held at the offices of The Lens (http://thelensnola.org/), an online news organization in Nola. It's in a small blue building right across from the expansive Wash Dat car wash. Leave a comment here if you have trouble finding it.
No tech experience needed! Come spend a Sunday with us making New Orleans better for all.
