Navigating Career Growth in 2019

What We'll Do
Come join ONA St. Louis on Thursday, Feb. 21, as we host a presentation and panel discussion on navigating career growth.

What You Can Expect
Per usual, we'll have free food, beer and nonalcoholic beverages. The event will be held at T-Rex downtown at 911 Washington Ave., Ste. 500. We will be meeting in the Holekamp classroom.

Please note: This event starts promptly at 6 p.m., so please arrive on time. If you have any issues finding the space or getting inside the building, please call Steph Kukuljan at 314-971-0615 or Veneta Rizvic at 314-269-6629.

There is parking available on the northwest/west part of the building in an empty lot next to the Over / Under Bar and Grill.

Schedule
5:15 to 6 p.m.
We typically give people about a half hour to arrive at the venue. Take your time to sign in, grab some food and drinks, and mingle.

6 to 6:15 p.m.
At the start of every event, we gather together for a quick icebreaker and update the group on any upcoming ONA events, initiatives in the works, etc.

6:15 to 7:30 p.m.
This month’s event on career development and social media branding will feature Jack Grone with McPherson Publishing and Linda Lockhart, founding member of the Greater St. Louis Association of Black Journalists and former St. Louis Public Radio copy editor and outreach specialist.

7:30 to 7:45 p.m.
We'll then take questions from attendees for a brief Q&A with our speakers. You can also submit questions in advance to stlouis@journalists.org.

ONA St. Louis wants to remind attendees we have members from dozens of St. Louis-area media outlets. We ask that people be mindful and constructive when mentioning local examples in conversation.

First-Timer?
For those who have never attended an Online News Association event before, we are part of the world's largest association of digital journalists. Our mission is to inspire innovation and excellence among journalists to better serve the public.

You do not have to be a member to attend one of our meetups. We do ask that you RSVP well in advance, however, to help us better gauge how much food we will need to order.
