We'll get a report of ORGCon 2019 from Amanda and Charles and, hopefully, get to see/listen to ORGCon highlights. We'll also discuss running one or more Healthy Digital Lifestyle pop-up sessions in central Norwich in August. You may want to bring tablets, laptops, smartphones, etc. You're also welcome to bring food and drink. This is a FREE event and no previous experience is necessary.
In the meantime ORG supporters are asked to respond urgently to the Government White Paper on Online Harms. The Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport's risk-based proposal to regulate the platforms we all use to communicate is likely to lead to widespread blocking of legal content by a state regulator. ORG urges all supporters to tell the Government that 'a new rights-based approach is needed that focuses on increasing online companies' transparency and accountability to an independent authority apart from the Government. The Consultation CLOSES AT 11.59pm ON MONDAY 1 JULY, so time is short!
