Details
Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) presents Made in America:Dances That Transform You through Time and Movement. The program will consist of works designed to conjure up visions of gypsy dancers, to the famous orchestral music of the 1940’s audience favorite Eight by Benny Goodman, choreographed by Ohio Ballet Founder Heinz Poll. Included is a new work by African-American choreographer Tommie Waheed Evans of Philadelphia described by critics as, "sleek encounters that brim with contrasting patterns and connections". A new company work by Adam Houghland, of Dallas, Texas whose works have been praised for, "ample distinctive differences in movement invention, tone, and approach to satisfy a multiplicity of tastes" makes an exciting addition to the program. International dance critics from Taiwan and the UK have reviewed Verb Ballets' performances as, “classical ballet with a dash of American modern dance”.
