Talk Summary:
Shift Security Left and DevSecOps are two of the prominent buzz terms of recent years in the cybersecurity industry. Both have featured heavily in Dell, but what does it really mean? What is the reality of following through on the latest security hype in a large multinational? This talk will break down the journey, and address the key questions and challenges that crop up along the way, not least of all, how do they get the dev in DecSecOps?
Speaker Bio:
Andrew is a Cybersecurity Advisor for Dell Technologies, with a background in cryptography, application development and data privacy. He is a UCC graduate with a PhD in Cryptography and previously worked on McAfee’s drive encryption products. In 2015, Andrew moved to EMC, working on EU funded projects in a diverse range of topics such as Post-Quantum Cryptography, privacy preserving data markets, big data platforms, and secure Cloud services. Most recently he moved to the DTST organization in Dell where he helps drive the adoption and maturity of security practices and controls, and foster a culture of security throughout its development teams.
