Open Web App Security Project - Kansas City Chapter Monthly Meeting
Details
Meetings of the Kansas City chapter of the Open Web Application Security Project are held at 6:00pm on the fourth MONDAY of each month. Attendance is open to everyone - membership is not required (though we invite you to join the global OWASP organization and list our chapter as your home chapter)! RSVPs are not required - we don't track membership - but it's definitely helpful for planning! (It lets us know how much pizza we need!)
Oh, yeah - there will be pizza!
NOTE: THE MID-CONTINENT LIBRARY SYSTEM IS ADHERING TO THE JACKSON COUNTY, MO MASK MANDATE, SO MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED AT THIS MEETING. https://www.mymcpl.org/library-information/using-mcpl/mcpl-covid-19-information

Our presentation for the month will be:
“Doing Security More Betterer: How Modern Techniques Make Old Security Band-Aids Obsolete” (working title)
Josh White & Justin Ferguson will talk through several ways that new practices and technologies are making security of web applications more robust and less dependent on chewing gum and duct tape.
