Our third event of 2021 (and hopefully our last only virtual one) and we’re delighted to present to you our August event. We have one confirmed talk, with a second to be finalised. Adam Pickering will also be talking about an escape room, but with a cyber security twist from CGI.
Talk 1
Title: North East Cyber Crime Unit - Overview
Speaker Bio:
Since joining the Northumbria Police Specialist Cyber Crime Investigation Team in December 2018 I have completed training in CISMP, CompTIA Security+and Cyber Essentials. My primary role is to engage with businesses and communities in the Northumbria Police area, providing advice and guidance in the form of presentations, workshops and webinars. In addition, I provide personalised, one-to-one support to victims of cyber crime and am the Lead Coordinator of the free Vulnerability Assessment Service which the North East Protect Network provides to businesses in the Northumbria, Durham and Cleveland Police areas.

Title: SIEM Engineering
Bio:
Kimberley Hendry is a Cybersecurity Engineer at Th4ts3cur1ty.company and the co-lead of the North-East chapter of the Ladies Hacking Society. She works with SME's to improve their cyber defence through visibility and monitoring and is passionate about simplifying cybersecurity with the aim to make everyone safer.
Synopsis:
What is a SIEM and what analysts do with them to help protect a business.
