The Ohio Valley Camera Club (OVCC) brings our members a wide variety of photography-related opportunities: to get to know one another, to receive quality educational programs that will inspire and motivate you, and experience fun filled times photographing locally, regionally and nationally.
During the period of social distancing we will be meeting every third Wednesday via web conferencing.
Other times our monthly meetings, posted here, get underway socializing 5:15 pm to 6 pm. The program starts with an announcement of upcoming meeting updates and activities, and then proceeds into:
Positive Image Critiques by Professional Photographers - considered one of the finest and quickest ways to improve.
Dinner. Excellent food, followed by:
Educational training or other photography related presentation.
Over by 8:30 pm.
We currently are presenting a series of webinars with local, regional, and nationally respected Photographers. Recently Matt Kloskowski presented his program on “How to Edit Your Images Like A Pro.” Blake Rudis, presented his inspirational message to OVCC on finding yourself towards developing as an artistic photographer, along with his critiquing and adjusting some of our images. And Nancy Germer, member, presented “Introduction into Texturizing Your Photos.”
Many other opportunities are available for meeting and learning. Recent classes have included “How to Sell at Art Events and Fine Art Shows,” “How to Get into the Photography Business,” and "Process Used in Taking Professional Portraits and Headshots."
The OVCC will organize Symposiums with several local highly talented and acclaimed artistic photographers. Our last one, "Symposium on Artistic and Fine Art Photography" was held on April 6, 2019 at Sinclair Community College in Mason. We are continuing with this series annually.
Throughout the year we conduct two to four photo shoots each month such as: Urban Abstract: A Walk Through Over-the-Rhine, Greenfield Plant Farm (supplier to Cincinnati Zoos spring flowers), Taft Museum, Museum of Art, Great Saltpeter Cave Tour and Light Painting, Raptor Shoots, Old River Pumping Station, Riverboat on the Ohio at Sunset and many others.
Finally, two or more times per year the OVCC will provide opportunities to display and sell your prints.
We certainly want to allow our new members a trial period before asking you pay our event dues of $20. Your trial period will extend for six months after you join.
We believe most likely you will become fully aware of our member benefits of providing Photography and Processing Training, a full array of events near and far, socializing with others of similar interests and motivation-inspiration to continue upward in photography.
Should, however, you decide not to participate in our events, you are encouraged to remain with our club. You will have access to our Meetup Discussion Panels, including our Flea Market for used equipment, our Photo section with over 47,000 images and to our Facebook Group for reviewing and posting.
