All suggestions for other activities are welcome.
With everyone getting an extra hour of sleep on Sunday that means that you should be raring to go on a beautiful hike. Let's get out and hike Glen Canyon and all of its stairs. We will access the entrance to Glen Canyon at the end of Brown Road, by Truck 59 Cidery. We will hike the entire length of the canyon and return to the upper portion behind the Holiday Inn.
This Canyon is a beauty and another one of my favourites - every season it looks totally different. Even if it is raining or windy, once we are down in the canyon we will be protected from the weather.
Directions: Coming down Hwy 97 into West Kelowna once you come into the old town, turn left at the set of lights at Brown Road. Cross Dobbin at the next set of lights and drive to where the condos end and park by the Cidery but do not park in front of their entrance.
Bring hiking poles if you wish, wear good and sturdy hiking boots or running shoes. There are a few elevation changes but you can do it - I promise you.
See you there - rain or shine.
Come out and enjoy this newly upgraded trail with amazing views. We will hike from the Pebble Beach Parking lot to Seclusion Bay and back (just over 6 KM). The fall colours are showing up so this will be a beautiful hike.
Drive south down Hwy 97 and go all the through Westbank and take the Glenrosa exit. At the top of the overpass turn left and continue down Gellatly Road South. When you see the lake ahead of you, Whitworth Rd is very close - turn right on it and drive all the way to the end and you will see parking at Pebble Beach.
See you all there - a great hike for an afternoon.
