Old Dudes On Dirt Bikes!

                       Welcome to "OLD DUDES on DIRT BIKES!!!". 

The group was started by Ken Sanchez in September 2012 to get we "older" dirt riders (Dudes) back together and ride the Sam Houston Nat'l forest in groups rather than riding alone. Haven't ridden since 1987 , it was critical to find other old school dirt riders who share the same passion for riding old school style. Our first meetup was 6 dudes (Larry included and Mark Tracy shortly after) with the same thought, to ride the SHNF at our pace without having to race or ride alone and avoiding all drama of the day. In 2021 Jeff Bryan joined in to continue the passion that Larry and Mark initiated. The time we ride is all we DUDES time, sharing in camaraderie and fellowship.

Since our inception back in 2012, our group has grown into different riding styles and ages. Our riders now vary from the mid 20's to mid 70's, with many different riding abilities. We have members that ride the SHNF trails, MX, trials, dual sports, and even an occasional street ride. We encourage our members to post rides whenever and wherever, we also encourage the members not to ride alone but find someone to always ride with with a fellow Dude when heading out. 

All members are very encouraged to wear safety equipment (old bones heal slowly). This includes Camel Back type water bladder systems.

We also support our Sam Houston National Forest by way of the Sam Houston Trails Coalition http://www.samhoustontrails.org/ . We encourage all members to join and support the Coalition. This group works hard to keep the SHNF opened and ever growing (our key riding resource north of Houston) ... Your support is both needed and greatly appreciated. Do visit and sign up. Cost to join SHTC is minimal and goes a long way in supporting our right to ride.

We have only one of the few National Forests in the United States where Multi Use Trails (Dirt Bikes) are allowed to ride. Your help is truly needed and appreciated in helping to keep OUR forest healthy, safe, groomed, maintained and ride ready for you and future generations to enjoy. 

We are non profit group, but we do accept donations to keep the website up and going ... all donations collected will only be used to fund the continuation of this meetup group presence (website costs), but donating is not mandatory to join or stay a member, it's strictly your choice. + 

We are also a PRIVATE group. Sorry to say that trolls and moles are a common pest these days and on occasion become accidental members... due to recent bad intentions, you now need to be a member to view our content. Please do join !!!  

Again, there is no charge to join and appreciate all who do! BUT Please note, you must have a dirt bike, pic of yourself (combos are nice) and real name to join!!!.  

You must visit the site at least 1 within 6 months. This MUST happen via lap top or desktop. The Meetup cell phone app does not register site visits.
