We welcome runners of all abilities. We are interested in creating an environment that allows you to grow as a runner both physically and socially through a variety of group runs, from fun runs, speed workouts, endurance runs and social events. This is the second set of workouts, with the first part being the tempo. We will start in the store with an easy run down to the Deschutes Pkwy. We will do some form drills. There are two routes. Every Wednesday evening at 6pm, the group meets at Marathon Park near Capitol Lake for an easy 3 or 5 mile run. The purpose of the Wednesday run is to have a good time and converse! Everyone is welcome to this free community run!
The 3 mile run consists of two laps around the lake.
The run starts at Capitol Lake’s Marathon Park, goes down Deschutes, across the river and back up Capitol Way and Columbia St. We take a short break at the South Sound Running store halfway through the run.
The Club Oly Saturday Morning Long Run is suspended for a while. The Capital City Marathon and Half Marathon Training Program takes place at 7:30 am on Saturday mornings and most of us will be running with them. The Club Oly long run will resume on May 26th.
Our Monday Evening runs will start from the Rose Garden Shelter at Priest Point Park at 6:00pm. There will be options for 3 and 5 mile routes. I’ll be leading an easy-pace 3 mile trail loop, that will be a “nobody gets left behind” run. Please arrive early to sign in. We’ll start running at 6:00pm.
