Talk 1: Building AI-centric products (Rasmus Rothe, Merantix)

The recent advancements in AI create the potential for many disruptive new businesses to solve real-world problems. In his talk, Rasmus will share some insights on how to think about AI from a product perspective.

Rasmus is a co-founder at Merantix, a Berlin based AI venture studio leveraging deep learning to build products in health, automotive, and finance. He obtained a PhD while studying computer science with a focus on (deep) machine learning at Oxford, Princeton and ETH Zurich. He founded HackZurich, which became the biggest hackathon in Europe, scaled a deep learning powered service to 150m users and previously interned as a product manager at Google.

Talk 2: Getting started with Machine Learning (Alexander Schäfer, Project A)

In my talk I want to give a short introduction to machine learning and highlight differences between machine learning projects and traditional software projects.

Alex is a data engineer at Project A. Before coming to Berlin Alex pursued his doctoral studies in Neuroscience in Leipzig and worked a postdoctoral researcher in the field of Computational Neuroimaging in Singapore. He holds a degree in Computer Science.
