Open Data Challenge Hackathon: Access to Hope through Innovation

Details

For the past several months, we've worked on building the skills of our community through workshops and events. It. All. Leads. Up. To. This.

We're hosting a weekend-long hackathon based around a simple idea: Access to Hope through Innovation. From this idea, our nonprofit partners - The Food Bank of Delaware and Network Delaware - will present challenges that our teams will solve. Look out for more details on those challenges as we get closer to the event.

Teams will compete to prototype solutions to the provided challenges. One team will be selected as the overall winner and awarded a grant to help them finish their ideas over time to produce something useable for our entire community.

You can get more information about the event at our website (http://opendatachallenge.com/) or at our event page (https://open-data-delaware.ticketleap.com/open-data-challenge-hackathon/).

Registration

To fully register for the event head over to our Ticketleap page. Registration is 100% free. Participants must be 14 or older in order to take home a prize.

About the Open Data Challenge

The Open Data Challenge (http://www.opendatachallenge.com) is a partnership with the State of Delaware's Government Information Center (http://gic.delaware.gov) and the Tech Forum of Delaware (http://techforumde.org) following the launch of Delaware's Open Data Portal (http://data.delaware.gov). The Open Data Challenge will help to build tangible, sustainable solutions for community issues using open data. The Challenge includes a series of 6 workshops curated by Open Data Delaware, the Tech Forum of Delaware's Idea Challenge, and Open Data Delaware's hackathon inspired by the National Day of Civic Hacking. Winning teams from the hackathon have the opportunity to win a cash grant following completion of their project.
