Welcome to learn and discuss about open data regarding streets and parking!
We have different kind of feelings and opinions about parking. The City of Helsinki has developed parking determinedly over 50 years because parking is seen as a key part of the transport system and transport policy.
The aim of traffic and parking policy is to improve the quality of life (safety, smoothness, comfort and usability), as well as business competitiveness. One way to proceed is to publish parking related public data as open data for anyone to use freely.
City of Helsinki has already published a good amount of its public data resources, also regarding parking and streets, as open data via HRI service ( http://www.hri.fi/en/ ). Soon there will be available also real-time parking data. This gives totally new kind of opportunities to create more user-driven services.
Welcome to this open Hel<3Dev meetup to learn and discuss more about parking in Helsinki and available parking-related open data sets!
This event will be held in Finnish but some presentations and discussions can also be held partly in English if needed.
