Open mic kirtan is done in a call and response chanting format during which one person leads a sacred chant and the group chants it back in response. There is no pressure to lead a chant; however, the opportunity is always available if one feels moved to do so. Chanting is one of the most effective ways to connect with Spirit, meditate, and know your highest Self. Kirtan, like other forms of Yoga, moves energies in ones body and mind, and helps to clear out that which does not serve us. Singing kirtan commonly leaves the Soul in a naturally blissful state. Please feel free to bring instruments, a comfy sitting pillow, and/or snacks.
