What we're about

The Shanghai Literary Review hosts a bi-monthly open-mic & readings series at different bars and cafes in Shanghai. Bring your best poetry, translations, stories, and essays, and sign up to read to a supportive crowd of fellow writers and art lovers. Or just come to listen and relax with new friends. Editors and contributors of TSLR may read their work, and the bar will be serving drinks and snacks.

Other events we host include a monthly book club (https://www.meetup.com/Shanghai-Book-Club-M... (https://www.meetup.com/Shanghai-Book-Club-Meetup-w-The-Shanghai-Lit-Review/) ), weekly group silent writing on Monday evenings, and collaboration events with other community organizations.

The Shanghai Literary Review is a biannual literature and arts journal that features quality creative work from or about Asia and introduces new voices to the critical conversation on contemporary literature. With editors across Shanghai, New York, Paris, & London, our magazine now sells at bookstores and shops around the world. We aim to support and energize our local communities with a transnational platform for artists and writers.
