Topic: Building Interactive Web Applications in 2019
Abstract:
Our customer's expectations have changed. In the world of Web 2.0, it is no longer enough for our applications to act like a "web page." People expect a high degree of dynamic interactivity and engagement from a web application that feels like native. Web applications have to engage with people on a level that far surpasses the accepted standards of the past decade in order to hold people's attention longer. In this talk, I will detail with you how I have been dealing with this increasing demand for interactivity from my customers and what open source libraries have been serving me best. Together we will discuss the viability and roles of tools like React, Vue.js, D3 and JQuery in the "Web 2.0." We will also discuss the makeup of the (somewhat) newly coined "Web 3.0" and talk about what the future hold for us in terms of our customer's expectations.
