Implementing and maintaining Micro-Segmentation in your OpenStack environment

Details
Our Feb/March session is a knock out! Jason Rouault, the CTO of Cloudvisory joins us to talk about “Why you need to implement and maintain proper Micro-Segmentation in your OpenStack environment”. In addition to a great topic -we are planning a gourmet Texas Taco FEST for dinner!
In this session, we will discuss common misconceptions around attempting to forklift traditional security controls, such as perimeter or inline firewalls, to the cloud while ignoring stronger and more granular, cloud-native controls such as OpenStack Security Groups. Cloud native controls will be explained and demonstrated, discussing the power and importance of this “White-listing” approach. The session will illustrate how cloud-native controls deliver granular, workload-level security that is stronger than perimeter approaches. Demonstration will illustrate how these controls can protect against the East/West threat and help detect and quarantine potential bad actors. The critical security importance of Micro-Segmentation, creating small fenced-in “yards” of workloads, will also be reviewed. Micro-Segmentation greatly reduces risk and a demonstration will illustrate the process of how to define and automatically create Micro-Segmented policies. Lastly, we will discuss the need for ongoing audit and enforcement of these controls. The session will end with a live interactive demonstration
