We are proud to have Allison Randal joining us for our OpenStack Meetup on September the 15th.
Allison is known for her work in Open Source for a long time and has been engaged on projects like Debian, Python, Perl and Parrot. As Distinguished Technologist at HP for Cloud Open Source Strategy, she is directing upstream work on OpenStack and Cloud Foundry. She is uniquely positioned to exchange thoughts on the role of the open source ecosystem in the enterprise and specifically on the question why and where HP is contributing in this eco system and the potential it opens to the customers.
Allison is a software developer and open source strategist. She is president of the Open Source Initiative (http://opensource.org/), board member at the Perl Foundation, and co-founder of the FLOSS Foundations group for open source leaders. She previously served as president of the Perl Foundation, chief architect of the Parrot virtual machine and chairman of the Board at the Parrot Foundation, board member at the Python Software Foundation, Open Source Evangelist and OSCON Conference Chair at O'Reilly Media, and Technical Architect of Ubuntu and Open Source Advisor at Canonical. She collaborates in the Debian, Ubuntu, Python, Perl, and OpenStack projects, and currently works on OpenStack strategy at Hewlett-Packard, leading a team of upstream-focused OpenStack engineers. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allison_Randal
